WHO WE ARE

Named honoring Wright family Stone Masons at the turn of the century,Wright Bros. Photoplay is run  by husband and wife, Michael NJ Wright and Caro Posse. Together they, develop, collaborate and  construct stories,  across multiple genres and platforms, depicting an  indomitable  human  spirit.

Michael NJ Wright- Cinematographer, Writer, Director

Wright graduated as a Cinematography Fellow from the American Film Institute in 1986. He has an extensive track record serving as Director of Photography for television networks like NBC, ESPN, MTV, Discovery, and in independent shorts and features. He is engaged as a screenwriter with Brandwood Global, and his directing credits include Ego Corum Paribus (1996), American Fumble (2019), and The Francis Ellis Mysteries (2024)

​He is an Emmy winner and multiple Telly recipient. He has lectured at AFI, University of Illinois in Urbana, Columbia College, and other institutions. Wright is adjunct faculty in Cinematography at Columbia College Chicago.

Caro Posse - Producer

Caro Posse is an award winning media producer and educator. She worked in the arts non-profit sector as Programming Director, and ultimately served as Interim Director, of the Chicago Latino Film Festival.  She has served on juries for the Sundance Institute, Latino Public Broadcasting (LPB) and the Independent Television Service (ITVS) and at multiple international film festivals. Caro has guest lectured for educational and governmental institutions and was the film curator and co-founder of Mostra: Brazilian Film Series presented in cooperation with Partners of the Americas Illinois-Sao Paulo Chapter. Her producing credits include Hot Chili (2004), The Quiet (2005), Path of Least Resistance (2006), Little Green Men (2009), The Scary Ham (2018), This is Cindy (2019), American Fumble (2019), The Francis Ellis Mysteries (2024). American Parent (2023), The Game Camera (2024). Caro has a BA in Film, a Master’s in Arts Management and is currently an Associate Professor in Cinema and Television Arts at Columbia College Chicago.
